Entry
constitutes agreement with the rules and conditions below. Riders
under the age of 18 at the time of entering must have their entry
countersigned by a legal guardian (eg. parent)

Race Rules – General
Competitors must complete the entire race (or
individual
stage) on the same bicycle frame (and with the same number) upon which
they started the race/stage. heel
changes are permitted.
Race numbers must be displayed on the handlebars of the
bicycle. Altering, cutting or
placing of unauthorized sponsors' logos on numbers will result in a
fine and/or disqualification.
Riders must follow the instructions of the course marshalls.
Riders must not use offensive or abusive language during the
race, act in any
anti-sporting manner, be disrespectful to the event
volunteers/officials or ignore the race regulations.
Riders are not permitted to shortcut the course. The
responsibility for following the official
route lies with the rider. If you do not follow the official route you
will
be disqualified.
Riders are not permitted to willingly alter the course in any
way without first consulting with the race officials. This includes
moving rocks, logs, tape or any
other natural obstacles.
Riders must act in a polite manner at all times and permit any
faster rider to overtake with out deliberately obstructing.
Equipment Requirements
at least 500ml of water must be carried (note
more
is
recommended - no water stations on the course)
A windproof jacket must be carried.

Conditions of entry
By accepting entry riders agree:
1 To abide by the event rules.
2. There are risks and hazards inherent in participating in this event
and I
understand that participation in the event is at my own risk.
3. I do hereby on behalf
of
my heirs, executors, administrators and assignees release and forever
discharge the sponsors of, landowners and any and all persons involved
in
the conduct of the Ohope Ordeal Mountain Bike Ride from any and all
liability whatsoever or claims of damages or actions whatsoever
(including negligence) in any manner arising out of my participation in
the Ohope Ordeal Mountain Bike Ride.
4. I agree that Ohope Ordeal Mountain
Bike Ride and any sponsor of this event may use information contained
in
this form for purposes connected with the event, and to provide details
of other products, services and events to me from time to time. I
understand that I have rights under the Privacy Act 1993 to access and
correct any information held about me.
